Movement is an essential part of everyone's life. Whether we are looking at your ability to go through the day without pain or training for a big event, it is the building block to everything we do. For me, movement equals freedom. The freedom to fully be in my body and enjoy all this life has to offer, without injury, tightness or discomfort holding me back. From a young age, I was naturally drawn to sports, specifically soccer. The competitive nature, camaraderie and opportunity for continual self-improvement had me absorbed in the game. However, it was not until I tore my ACL and Meniscus skiing that I saw how much I took my movement for granted. This injury and slow road to recovery put me back in touch with my body and what it means to truly be 'healthy'. Having to start back at the basics, I completely changed the way I walk, how I engage different muscles exercising, and the way I show up in the world through my posture and newfound comfortability in my body. While my story is by no means unique, it ignited a flame within me to pursue my highest potential in the physical form while helping other people do the same.

After graduating from Boston College in 2020, I moved to Bend and quickly got into yoga, completing a 200hr RYT program and teaching here in town. This experience taught me a lot about the body and my decision to explore what I saw as the two main branches of health, the physical / training component and the nutrition / eating side. As a result, I chose to trace our food system to its roots and took part in a farming apprenticeship program at Rainshadow Organics in Sisters. Through this opportunity, I learned about the importance of local, organic food grown with attention and care. I have found my eating and overall nutrition to be the single greatest contributor to my athletic performance and recovery since then. On the flip side, I also got into assisted stretching and health coaching, working with clients one-on-one outside of the yoga studio to further my knowledge of the body and continue helping people reach their peak health.

Fluid Strength feels like a perfect blend of both of these branches as it focuses on holistic exercises and functional movement patterns to be fluid in your daily life and achieve strength for longevity. My goal is to help people get stronger, more in touch with their body and hopefully have a little bit of fun in the process. Let's be the best version of ourselves, today!
